41498 Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite 87 — 41629 Boba Fett is a considerable improvement on the version in the SDCC set. There is considerable variation between 41629 and its predecessor, particularly in the design of their helmets. The 2018 model features printed elements on either side of the visor while the version from New York Comic-Con includes some 2x2 wedge plates fitted using hinges. The updated design is preferred and the 2018 figure is based on Return of the Jedi (medium azure jetpack) versus Empire Strikes Back for the SDCC version.

41629 Boba Fett NYCC exclusive (earlier version) 86 — New version improves upon previous with better helmet design (printed 2×2 triangle tiles instead of hinged angled cheekpieces), sharper black-on-red visor design, improved forehead attachment, sleeker fiercer look, lower waistline for belt, and more obvious chest armor. Both versions incorporate different building techniques—new version uses sub-assemblies with corner panels; old version used hinges and stacked wedge plates. Return of the Jedi color scheme differs from Empire Strikes Back in original. With major differences reflecting true-to-the-movies costume differences, remaining improvements are genuine enhancements.
