9468 Vampyre Castle — The Vampyre Castle is the larger flagship set of the Monster Fighters line. Jack McHammer appears in both sets. The Vampyre Castle includes a Glow-in-the-Dark spider (also in The Zombies) but does not include the exclusive pink moonstone from The Zombies. The reviewer humorously notes expecting to find the Vampyre Castle inside The Zombies box due to its size, and is 'very disappointed' it is not there. However, The Zombies serves as a complementary set with its own play features and unique minifigures.
Orient Expedition — Both lines feature 'stunning graphics' and represent a renaissance for steampunk/decorative LEGO parts. Both 'have taken me by my collectors' gene and refused to let me go.' However, Orient Expedition offered better redundancy and army-building potential—it provided abundant multiples of common pieces (top hats, guns, crystals, Johnny Thunder hats) allowing collectors to build with duplicates. Monster Fighters lacks this, offering only two of each monster fighter if you buy the whole line. Reviewer concludes: 'I guess I can't have my cake and eat it.'
Samurai Robot of Ninjago — Referenced as a design alternative for the wheel hammers. Reviewer suggests the Ninjago set's approach (using inverted 2×2 plate with regular 2×2 plate) would be better for The Zombies' wheel design both in parts efficiency and aesthetics than the current Technic rod through-design.
Mad Professor And His Monster — Also includes a Glow-in-the-Dark spider. Relevant to collectors deciding whether to purchase The Zombies for the GitD spider element.

"i love this set i love all of the monster fighter sets i think they're all just really spectacular they were really well designed"
Key Pros
✓Well-designed hammer truck with working gear-driven rotating hammers
✓Three unique zombie minifigures with excellent printing and different faces
✓Innovative moonstone/grave opening mechanic
Key Cons
✕Cauldron launching mechanism works inconsistently; tends to stir rather than launch
✕Zombie bride dress piece prevents fitting in graves, limiting play scenarios
Exclusive to Monster Fighters sets; each set in the line has a different moonstone design. This one features a zombie hand coming out of the ground.
Stained glass bricks
Designed to look like stained glass for the crypt structure.
Glow-in-the-dark spider piece
Only glowing element in the set; adds spooky display value.
Cauldron with bones and translucent pieces
Decorative play element with launching/stirring mechanism in the crypt.
Pink moonstone
Exclusive to this set and not even included in the larger Vampyre Castle. Introduces new rules to the game: the evil vampire can safely lose one of the evil moonstones and still have enough to open his evil gate through the evil moon. Also needed to activate the set's main play feature (color-changing mechanism).
2×1 cheese slope modification piece in black
Reviewer suspects this may be new in black coloring, though uncertain. Described as part of useful building elements for AFOLs.
