Republic Attack Shuttle (RAS) — Similar design philosophy and mechanisms. RAS was £10 cheaper 18 months prior. RAS rear is simpler and more functional whereas Theta's rear is fussy and busy with Technic parts. However, Theta's improved landing gear is superior to RAS's fixed blocks. Reviewer used RAS design to base a custom Lambda shuttle on and was disappointed about UCS Lambda; this set goes some way to make up for that.
Imperial Landing Craft — Both have folding landing gear improvements over earlier fixed-block designs.
Lambda Shuttle (UCS, upcoming) — Theta shuttle is the Theta-2c, the immediate forerunner of the Lambda shuttle from Return of the Jedi. Reviewer was initially disappointed that official Lambda would be UCS format rather than standard set; this Theta set has gone some way to compensate. Reviewer plans to buy UCS Lambda anyway and will compare the two.
