What reviewers are saying
"Mei's Dragon Jet provides a suitable entry point for Monkie Kid, but is not a must-have"
Brickset Reviews
"80041 Mei's Dragon Jet is the most affordable vehicle for Mei yet, but being an add-on to another model limits its potential."

Ecosystem
80020 White Dragon Horse Jet — Not as impressive as 80020 White Dragon Horse Jet. This model takes paramount design influence from 80020, featuring identical colours with equally angular bodywork. However, the continuity between Mei's vehicles is fantastic, although reaching the same standard will be difficult. This model is much smaller, measuring 20cm in length and lacking the same substantial fuselage.
80031 Mei's Dragon Car — The unsightly vibrant yellow accents on 80031 Mei's Dragon Car are consigned to history, with 80041 using superior white, trans-bright green, and teal colours instead.
80040 Monkie Kid's Combi Mech — This set and 80040 Monkie Kid's Combi Mech become more interesting when combined. The two sets work well together as complementary lower-cost entry-level vehicles.
80043 Yellow Tusk Elephant — This set lacks the new iteration of Mei available with 80043 Yellow Tusk Elephant. The armoured Mei variant in 80041 has appeared in multiple sets, whereas a less common minifigure would have been ideal.

Standout parts (per reviewers)
Curved cloud-swirl blade piece
New piece introduced with Monkie Kid range this year; forms the wings; expected angular blades would have been even more successful but these work well with adjustable positions
4x5x1 cockpit elements
Combined to create sharp angles associated with Mei's vehicles; nestle around lime green accents on nose
2x4 roof slopes
Effectively integrated on either side of cannon, enclosing the stud shooter within
lime green turbine
Angled to form an enormous thruster on the combined mech; contributes to impressive rear profile
trans-bright green thrusters
Serve as visual elements and structural supports when combined
folding nose
Transforms for integration with 80040; folds down and underside section swings forward
