While 71043 is a micro-scale display piece, 76454 is a minifig-scale Hogwarts designed for playability and interior detail. The Main Tower footprint feels more intimate than 71043, with different tower proportions. This is intentional - the designers studied what fans built with the older set and what they added to it. The Main Tower offers minifigures that look proportionally correct inside rooms, which 71043 simply could not offer.
