Previous Indominus Rex set — The new version has several changes beyond just color—it's improved over the version from five years ago. Gray with silver accents is a nice variant, though the reviewer mentions white with silver would also look neat.

Previous gyrosphere set(s) — We have seen a gyrosphere before and it was really awesome, but this is the first time LEGO has included the actual ride and ride infrastructure, making this version better.

Indominus Rex Breakout (2015) — The new 2020 Indominus Rex has a makeover with much more grey than white (more realistic), metallic silver sheen, and new hand design. The colour difference is stark, making the original seem very pale like a ghostly dinosaur. The newer grey colour is much more realistic.

Triceratops — Ankylosaurus is comparable in size and height to the Triceratops, with similar belly proportions, suggesting LEGO designers used the Triceratops as a reference point. Ankylosaurus is described as the best dinosaur since the Triceratops.
