previous LEGO camper van — This new 2014 camper van is better than the last one. Jang notes the previous version was so good he was hoping for a replacement, and this one improves upon it while maintaining great playability.
7639 Camper — 60057 is taller with more detailed front end, wing mirrors, and trans-clear headlights. The newer bonnet piece adds contour but the reviewer misses SNOT grille tiles. 60057 is considerably longer (about four studs) and has a shallower windscreen rake. While 60057 has a more sober, realistic livery, it loses some of the Classic Town cuteness of its 2009 predecessor. Lacks roof access ladder that 7639 required, but has removable roof instead of dual-opening walls. Superior interior layout with more space.
4435 Car and Caravan — Interior design shares similarities: identical window/wall panel/small window configuration, television inside wall panel, and opening mechanism. 60057's version is simplified and tidied up. The Camper Van uses trans-black windows rather than the trans-blue of the Caravan, which the reviewer prefers. Both sets now represent a shift toward realistic design over Classic Town cuteness, paralleling the arrival of the Friends range and its visual distinction from CITY.
