How long does a Lego exclusive stay exclusive?

Hi, How long do Lego exclusive sets stay exclusive to Lego Shop@home? I know 'hard to find' means available in limited other retailers but I thought Exclusive meant just that, and it wasn't available other than from Lego B&M stores or their online shop. Sea Cow and Simpsons House are listed under Exclusive in UK on Lego website, but Smyths Toys has the Sea Cow in stock and the Simpsons House marked as available from May 15th.
