Attic LEGO Storage

Hi everyone, I just moved from apartment to a house. I have a big attic space that I possibly can store my LEGOs. Can you share your experiences storing LEGO in attic? - For short term storage (less than 2-3 years), will the extreme cold and hot ruin the LEGO boxes? - What are some of the best storage bins?
