Advice on Trips to LEGOLAND Florida

Good day! I'm hoping someone will have any advice on going to Legoland Florida. Two adults and two children (that are tall enough for all of the rides) would get there on a Sunday. We are not sure about how long we should stay. We are not planing on going on the large roller coasters. We were thinking the if we went in the next week or two then maybe the crowds wouldn’t be too large since most children are still in school. Is there a big difference between the two hotels? Is staying at a non-LEGO hotel make that big of a difference? We plan on getting tickets through and h promotion going on now at Legoland. Is that the best deal or should I look somewhere else?
