Gift Card Inception - Roads to Maximizing Gift Card Value

After my almost catastrophic dabble with Gift Card inception the other day, I think it would be beneficial to myself and many others to document what avenues currently exist to maximize savings on online and instore gift cards, with the ultimate goal of Gift Card inception ... Looking for your input as well on how to use the various reward programs to get the best Gift Card Deals. I've posted this in the Discussion Forum, not in the Daily Deals, but if a Mod thinks this rather belongs there ... move this around to your heart's content. For sake of comparison - let's use $100 as our initial GC value and calculate the total spending/earned value as absolute dollar numbers. Let's also assume we do our buying only during a 4x EBay Bucks promotion. Here are the methods I've heard of: 1. Buy Ebay GCs at Target using RedCard savings (5% off, so $95 for a $100 GC). Then buy discounted TRU/Sears/KMart Giftcards (typically $85 for $100 value) during an EBay bucks promotion, to get a total of $100 TRU/KMart/Sears credit + $15 EBay credit + EBay Bucks (depending on promo but for sake of comparison taken at 8% so $6.80): Invested: $95, Return: $121.80 (128%) 2. Buy Target GCs on EBay with shipping ($100 for $102.99) during EBay Bucks promotion (e.g. 4x Ebay Bucks or 8%, gives $8 in Ebay Bucks). Then purchase Ebay giftcard at Target using Target GC ($100 for $100). Use Ebay GC during next EBay Bucks promotion to buy discounted TRU/Sears/KMart giftcard ($85 for $100 value plus EBay bucks - $6.80). Invested: $102.99, Return $100+$15+$8+$6.80 = $129.80 (126%) . Caveat: I have checked this scenario with a few Target cashiers and they say this is allowed - but YMMV. Note that just buying a $100 TRU/KMart/Sears GC for $85 during an EBay Bucks promotion (e.g. 4x or 8% - $6.80) gives a 126% return (Invested: $85, Return: $106.80). Anyone has any other methods? MOD NOTE: Deleted a YMMV way of doing business.
