Modular display table system

Started looking around at what's out there. The best thing I could find were both IKEA solutions. Either a series of LACK coffee tables (about $80 / 4x8 space) or a build-your-own table using: 1x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00251135/ 4x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90217972/ I like the table better because it will be higher. Each one is about 2x4 and runs $20 a table, so about the same price as 8 LACKs. The other option seems to be plywood and folding legs, which runs about 70$ a table and requires sanding, sealing, and painting. For $10 I'll go the IKEA route. I think I will start with 4 tables and expand from there. What did you find?
