I'm amazed resellers are able to move as much product as they do outside of the holidays. While I don't disagree with that, what I think we will see is that lego will go back to producing less sets as the next few years tick by. With TRU going belly up, that is going to change the game, a little bit. The amount of sets they produce a year will probably decline. The Star Wars theme alone could use a serious trimming down via the offerings every year. It would be nice to see it go back to how it was around 2009-2013 when they produced basically 2 waves a year, with only one UCS offering and that was it. Now, it's 3 waves a year, with 2 UCS offerings. If they do produce less because there is less demand, we will see them make better choices on what they offer (hopefully). I also think this year they have upped their game compared to previous years. The Roller Coaster and Diner are well done. It's sets like that which makes me drop a grand a year or more on this stuff for my own personal use."},{"@type":"Comment","url":"https://app.brickpicker.com/community/post/15582-the-lego-trend-is-not-our-friend-19186#comment-763865","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"amrandazz","url":"https://app.brickpicker.com/community/u/amrandazz"},"datePublished":"2018-05-05T19:38:50.000Z","text":"fossilrock said: 1 hour ago, fossilrock said: While I don't disagree with that, what I think we will see is that lego will go back to producing less sets as the next few years tick by. I went to Legoland FL and that place was terrible when you compare it to Universal or Disney 45 minutes north. Maybe CA is better but FL was a run down mess. Or maybe I just have high expectations of amusement parks after visiting DW and DL. I'd say that the age range for LEGOLAND is much narrower and overall younger. Their hours are a joke compared to Disney and Universal, but make sense when you have younger kids. The rides are better for smaller kids (a lot less rides they can't go on.) You can usually find free kids passes or significantly discounted passes. It's a discount version of Disney catering to kids 4-10. It's really not for adults and kids of all ages. But if you happen to be in the area with younger kids, it's a good day."},{"@type":"Comment","url":"https://app.brickpicker.com/community/post/15582-the-lego-trend-is-not-our-friend-19186#comment-763872","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"feed","url":"https://app.brickpicker.com/community/u/feed"},"datePublished":"2018-05-06T16:59:08.000Z","text":"Missing a couple movies this year so would expect demand to be flatter. Once they hit 10-12 we are done. It's about 500$ a year for passes and ten minute waits on rides, where disneyland is 500$ a visit and long lines everyday now. Disneyland is awful these days.
