Question about Mr, Gold

I recently purchased an "Original Mr. Gold" on Ebay, for a seller that has good reputation, it came with the certificate, seems legit, also the minifigure looks legit, I has the pearl gold and lego marking where you assembly the head, also has the marking in the leg and where where you assembly the upper body... My question is with the staff, it was assembled wrong and when I did corrected it, I noticed that the color under the "gold plating" in the long part of the staff is red.... Here is a picture.... can somebody with a Mr. Gold comment on this?
