legal trouble by importing sets into the US?!

Hello, I live now since half a year in the USA. I like the life in the States very much and my job here is really good. I'm enjoying every day. I'm sorry for my bad English, I hope my English will also get better As a part time job I sell LEGO sets on amazon.com and eBay.com. My homeland is Germany, so I have there many contacts. For a few days I had a good phone call with one of my best friends. We came to the question regarding importing LEGO sets from the EU to the USA. I think there is many trouble with that? As far as I know, most sets in the EU has other packaging. So I'm not sure, if it's not allowed to import those other sets into the USA regarding this problem? Maybe the European packaging do not meet the US safety regulations? Small parts. Not for children under 3 years". All these details do not exist in the EU version of the set. Also the background and the sides of the sets have other design and texts. Or that LEGO will sue me, because they don't want the US market mixed with European LEGO sets? What are your experiences regarding this problem, as far as I know many US sellers are importing sets into the US. I read that if you buy sets in the EU, you are an importer and you have also the product Liability to handle with? Oh well, it would be nice if you can help me.
