The principle of scarcity - how we perceive value

I wonder how many of us savvy business men and women realize that the Lego group is a very smart company and are doing some advance business practices. While many posters here feel they are looking to ban customers and they make decisions to thwart resellers well I would like to counter that almost all their decisions like most companies are profit driven... Now to the point and title are they TLG deliberately having stock shortages with items to drive sales and get profit from the EOL speculators...If a set has prolonged shelf life with wide availability then people wont feel the need to buy but if they give the perception of scarcity then obv the people here dive right in. Then the set mysteriously gets another production run and is widely available again this might happen 2-3 times in the products life cycle. These could be planned shortages and then more to come and this would explain many sets recently...VC BC FH MC AS CR possibly GE R2 I think it is clear they are messing with resellers but their motives are profit based. I believe the really smart people running the Lego company understand many of these business principals including perception of scarcity. I believe they also overprice msrp so they can sell everything 20-30% off and this would be the real msrp.
