Toy Fair 2014: Investment and Collector Aspects

As you can see from the poll, I asked what LEGO's strongest line of sets this coming Summer is. But I want you to weigh in below with what you think the best set(s) for investment purposes will be. My top 5 picks (in no particular order) are... 1. The LEGO Movie: 70815 Super Secret Police Dropship - $79.99 This one looks to be a good investment because of both the model itself, which is sleek, creative, and memorable from The LEGO Movie, and also the minifigures that are included, which highlight some great themes like Ninjago, Adventurers, and Super Heroes. These are great figures. 2. Ultra Agents: 70165 Mission HQ - Retail: $99.99 The return of Agents will likely be highly anticipated. The sets look overall much cleaner, more creative, and really fun for kids. The designs look to be inspired partially by Tron. What makes this set appealing is the good use of space inside and also the apparent inclusion of technic build combined with bricks too. The figures are truly unique from head to torso, and incorporate all types of agents. 3. Star Wars: 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina - Retail: $69.99 This is the first remake of Mos Eisley since 2004, making it a decade since it's triumphant and long awaited return. The figures are all very accurate and fit the scene perfectly, and the model itself, while small, still has plenty of features and looks great. The Landspeeder, even though we've seen it several times before, is an impressive upgrade from the original, and the Dewback is far more accurate to the remade film. I own the original, and plan on getting this one too. 4. Cuusoo: 21108 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 - Retail: $49.99 From the apparent success of the DeLorean Time Machine, this vehicle is sure to join them in profit-ville. It looks accurate to the film, and the figures have fantastic details. Even for people who have never seen the film, this set is sure to appeal to LEGO fans because of the unique pieces and design of the vehicle. 5. Super Heroes: X-Men vs. the Sentinel - $49.99 If 6866 tells us anything, it's that X-Men is popular. It's only recently been retired, and already it's sells for about $35, sometimes more. I don't know much about X-Men, or Marvel for that matter, but I know it's pretty popular.
