Flip early or hold

I am sorry if this has been put out there already. There is lots of talk of hold hold hold but what I can see there is many different types of investors/collectors on here. Just wondered in general what people are doing. I have been collecting and hoarding for a few years now and I'm afraid to say i hate selling me mint lego sets. i have recently been buying more sets than I need and just wondered what the average people are holding for on the smaller sets. I know the big boys here buy big sets and hold for longer but for me to be able to afford that i will need to work up to that as cash flow is key. I am no mug and have a very successful bricklink and ebay store. Myself and the kids buy in bulk on ebay make the sets up and sell them back on ebay and the rest gets put on the bricklink store. The bricklink store has over 100k pieces and is becoming busier all the time. We dabble in minifigs but really being a nice dad i bought whole boxes so they could complete series and sold spares.
