Making the investment an actual business?

Just posing the question out there to see if anyone has taken the investment to the next level and turned this into a legal LLC? I have been contemplating this but not sure if I really need to or would want to yet. SO far seem like it could be a lot of headache and expense for what may not yet be necessary.
