reseller vs. investor

I've seen many conflicting opinions on the definition of "reseller vs. investor". Lets have a discussion on why they are the same or different without any +1's or -1's. I believe they are one in the same with a difference of time frame. I'll explain. You may be an investor initially but once you go to sell your "investment" doesn't that make you a "reseller"? What say you? Discuss.
