"The Golden Age" of Lego is over.

Here it is brickpickers, the straw that breaks the camel's back. We have had multiple threads here talking about members getting messages from stores. The topics have all been the same; LEGO and it's first-party sellers are cracking down on third-party resellers. Today at 10am when I went to the LEGO store. I attempted to buy all 12 BTTF sets that try ha in stock. I encountered no problems until I got to the counter. The sales clerk said that I was not able to buy more than 2 of the BTTF sets. The next paragraph is a direct quote from the sales clerk that I committed to memory upon hearing it. "LEGO policies are changing. Apparently, corporate is getting stricter about sales lots due to resellers. They recently sent out a company wide message stating the new approach they are taking to limiting the reselling phenomenon." With that, the manager came out of the back and I clarified it with him. He confirmed and stayed that LEGO is getting serious about the reseller issue. They didn't accuse me if being a reseller because of how I worded my questions and what not. I simply told them that I have family members that wanted the sets as well. In order to get the 4 that I was able to get, I had to ask a woman who was also shopping to purchase them for me. The game has is changing and it is changing quickly. So quick that I believe a large portion I would be "resellers" an profiteers will be knocked out of the competition. LEGO is giving us no time to evolve as sellers. This is a quick ecological shift and the ones who adapt the fastest will be the ones to stay alive. I'm hoping this thread becomes the go to spot to discuss new tactics that we investors can use and to help each other get through this massive shift. I am hereby dubbing the period before 7/24/13, "The Golden Age". Good luck everybody. Hang in tight and let's work together in the months/years coming up.
