Are Space Sets generally a losing investment?

This has me baffled. I am wondering if anybody has made any kind of money investing in space theme sets. The Alien Conquest theme really intrigues me and my local Toys R Us has some of the sets (Alien Mothership and UFO abduction) in stock. Alien Mothership is clearanced down to 39.98 (same price on their website) and with the buy 1 get 1 50% off, that would be around $30 a piece. I know these were cheaper when Walmart clearanced them out after Christmas, but even at $25 or $30 they seem to be losers. I am just wondering if anybody has made any money investing in this theme. I looked back through the history and it seems the only "recent" Space series doing well is the "Mars Mission" series that came out 5 years ago. Just looking for some input on the space series in general.
